Local moves are priced on an hourly basis, with rates based on crew size and the number of trucks required. There are no flat-rate estimates that balloon at delivery, no fuel surcharges added after the fact, and no hidden fees. Your move coordinator will give you a clear, itemized estimate before you book and walk you through exactly what the final cost will look like based on your specific move.
If you are moving to another Florida city outside the local radius - say from Gainesville to Tampa, Orlando, or Miami - that falls under intrastate moving, which is a different service with flat-rate pricing. Free furniture protection. Every piece of upholstered furniture is stretch-wrapped at no additional charge before it moves through a doorway. We also install padded protection on all doorways, floors, and banisters to protect both your belongings and the property you are leaving.
Full-service packing. If you want us to handle everything, our packing team will arrive with all materials and pack every room - every box labeled by room and contents, fragile items individually wrapped, artwork and mirrors properly protected. Fragile-only packing. Prefer to pack most things yourself but want professional hands on the breakables? We offer fragile-only packing so your kitchen glassware, artwork, mirrors, and high-value items are packed to a professional standard while you handle the rest.
Custom crating. For items that need more than standard wrapping - large artwork, antiques, custom furniture, or anything with an irregular shape - we build custom wooden crates to spec. This is available as an add-on to any local move.
Specialty item handling. Pianos, pool tables, large appliances, gym equipment, and other items that cannot go on a standard truck without special preparation are handled by our specialized moving team. Our piano movers, pool table movers, and appliance movers work as part of your local move crew, not as a separate booking.
Unpacking and debris removal. After delivery, we unpack boxes, place items per your direction, and remove all packing materials from your new home. You will not spend your first night surrounded by cardboard.
Short-term and long-term storage. When move-out and move-in dates do not align, our storage facility in Gainesville offers both short-term and long-term options in climate-controlled, secure warehouses. We can hold your belongings and deliver them on your schedule.

Planning your local move
Getting ready for a local move goes more smoothly when you know what to expect at each stage. Here is how the process works when you book with A-Turner.
Estimate. The first step is a free in-home or virtual walkthrough with your move coordinator. They will assess the volume of items to be moved, flag any access challenges at either address, and give you a clear itemized estimate covering crew size, expected hours, and any add-on services you want included. You will know the full cost before you commit to anything.
Confirmation and prep. Once you book, your move coordinator confirms the crew size, truck configuration, and start time for your move date. If your building requires elevator reservations or a COI from the moving company, we handle that coordination in advance. You will receive a confirmation with everything documented so there are no gaps on move day.
Move day. Your crew arrives at the agreed time with all materials needed for furniture protection and any packing services you have added. Doorway and floor protection goes in before anything moves. Items are loaded in the order that makes sense for your destination layout, so unloading is organized rather than chaotic.
Delivery and placement. At your new address, furniture is placed room by room per your direction. Beds and other items disassembled during the move are reassembled on site. If you have added unpacking and debris removal, boxes are emptied and all packing materials are removed before the crew leaves.
After the move. Your move coordinator follows up to confirm everything was completed to your satisfaction. If anything needs attention, that is the time to raise it and we will address it.
